Tai Chi Spirit is a London based tai chi group, practising the Yang style as taught by Master Alex Dong

Classes in London

There are several weekly tai chi classes in London. Nancy Lam, Joyce Joly and Gordon Joly are registered as instructors with The Tai Chi Union for Great Britain which is the "largest collective of independent Tai Chi Chuan Instructors in the British Isles" and are also Associate Members of the Taijiquan and Qigong Federation for Europe

Beginners Classes

The Village Hall, Shepherd's Bush

Beginners Classes are held every Tuesday evening, from 18:30 to 20:00 at The Village Hall in Wood Lane, Shepherd's Bush (near the junction with Bulwer Street) London W12 8AP. No previous experience necessary. Your first steps in tai chi will be taken under the guidance of an experienced teacher in a small group. You will be taught the Yang Style Slow Set progressively each week and pushing hands (an exercise in pairs). Cost £6.00. No class Tuesday 9th February 2010

The Village Hall is at 58, Bulwer Street, Shepherd's Bush, London W12 8AP. The entrance to the hall is in Wood Lane, near Shepherd's Bush Library location map.

Kingsley Hall, Bow

A beginners class is taught in the East End at Kingsley Hall, Powis Road, London E3 3HJ. Every Thursday evening, from 18:30 to 20:00. Cost £7.00. These classes are run on the same basis at Shepherd's Bush (see above). There is an advanced class at 20:00 for an hour. Here is a map No class Thursday 18th February and 11th March 2010

Last Saturday of the month at the Village Hall

We offer a whole day of tai chi at The Village Hall, Shepherd's Bush on the last Saturday in each month (except December): tai chi and push hands and other exercises that we may not have time to practice during weekly classes. There are two afternoon classes, the first from 14:15 to 16:00 and the second from 16:15 to 18:00. Both are be suitable for beginners who have a few weeks experience of tai chi in the school, as well as those wishing to practice their tai chi and push hands. Based on demand, we may favour certain aspects in one class and other parts of our training in the other. There will be a tea break from 16:00 to 16:15. Each afternoon class is £6.00 and the whole afternoon is £10.00.

The morning session, from 11:30 to 13:15 will cover Slow Set, Sword Set, Broadsword Set, Hao Style, Dong Family Fast Set and Fa-Jing set. The cost is £7.00 for the morning session (the whole day is £15.00).

The dates for 2010 are 30th January, 27th February, 27th March, 24th April, 29th May, 26th June, 31st July, no classes in August, 25th September, 30th October, 27th November, no classes in December.

The cost is £7.00 for the morning session. Each afternoon class is £6.00. The whole afternoon is £10.00 and the whole day is £15.00.
