We plan to return to the Earth Spirit Centre for a weekend workshop in February 2010. The Earth Spirit Centre is close to Glastonbury on the "Somerset Levels" in the village of Compton Dundon.
The workshop will start the evening of Thursday 18th February (there will be an evening meal and practice). There will be three classes on both Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday there will be a morning class. The workshop will finish after lunch on Sunday 21st February.
Group practice will cover tai chi, chi gong and pushing hands with opportunities for practice outside of class times. The core practice will be Yang style Slow Set. All levels are welcome, but a knowledge of the first two sections would be advisable. However any student who has started the form (with any teacher who follows Master Alex Dong and the Tung Ying Jie Tai Chi Legacy) will be welcome.
Classes will be two hours long, and will begin the standard warm up sequence, or a replacement exercise such as the "peng, lui, zi, ahn" exercise (an introduction to this will be given as required). Every class will have some Slow Set practice, to improve group energy. We will also practice other exercises, such as the other four energies that complement the above work.
There will be plenty of opportunity to practice advanced forms, as well the Slow Set. Each class will involve some Slow Set practice, for all levels. We will continue to learn and practice the Dong Family Fast Set, following on from last year's workshop. There will also be a separate Slow Set group for those who have not completed that form, or who do not wish to learn the Dong Family Fast Set.
The basic cost of the seminar (which includes tuition, three nights accommodation and all meals) is £210.00 per person (£160.00 per person for the two day option) with extra charges for single rooms and special diets. All meals are vegetarian. Family groups are welcome, with discounts for those who will not be practicing tai chi.
The workshop will cost £210.00. The supplement for a single room is £35.00 (subject to availability) and special diets will charged at £18.00 (e.g. wheat, milk, any food omissions).
If you can only attend for two days (from Friday evening) the cost will be £160.00 - a single room will be £25.00 and special diets charged at £12.00 (e.g. wheat, milk, any food omissions)

The main hall has under floor heating, and this area will be used for full group practice. The centre has been improved over the years, with a new dining area and extra accommodation.
